This is one of my favorite episodes. I love what you said about Prentiss and how it felt like getting beaten was maybe familiar to her. I've rewatched this episode idk how many times and I never thought of that but now that you pointed it out I can't unsee it lol, and it does make sense with how little we actually know about her past. I also love Prentiss and Reid's relationship and their talk at the end of the episode.

They mentioned that the baby's parents had both been killed during the raid, that's why when the Team called, Cyrus put her on the phone and she mentioned that they killed her Mummy and Daddy and asked if they were gonna kill her too. Then when they released her, he said they were gonna let them meet the Orphan they made. Jessica was just looking after her because her parents were gone. I'd like to think that the woman adopted the baby though after this, so she at least had something... <333

2021-10-08 00:20:20 +0000 UTCThis episode is one of the best of the show tbh... It's so good! Prentiss saying she's the FBI Agent and taking the beating is so hard to watch, but other than her wanting to protect Reid from it, it actually made a lot of sense tactics-wise. Reid had already kinda formed a "relationship" with Cyrus. He'd already kinda got in there and had a connection to build on from when he said he was impressed by the solar panels and all that. He was the one more likely to be able to get more out of him and stay close to him. Meanwhile, Emily was the one more likely to be able to get through to that woman. It was still horrible though and I felt awful for them both. I love that moment where Cyrus does the test run with the fake poison. Because you have Hotch and Morgan and Emily kinda panicking and wanting to step in and help, while Rossi and Reid take a moment to think about it and realise it's just a test run. And that's not to say Hotch, Morgan and Emily aren't good at their jobs because they didn't immediately see it, it just shows that they got so freaked at the possibility of these people, some of them being kids, dying and so they couldn't see the full picture. And that's understandable. It's just such a good moment to me, because it really shows the characters and how they react to certain things. The girl. Jessica. It'd be so easy to just be angry at her for her reaction to Cyrus' death and how she blew up the Ranch, but we have to remember she's just a kid who's been manipulated for probably most of her life by this man who claims to love her. He was her HUSBAND. (So messed up...) She was raised to believe that it was okay and that there was nothing wrong with their relationship. Then she saw her husband dead on the floor and just lost it. It's really sad tbh... And her Mum. Like you said, we could put some of the blame on her as she's her parent and she shouldn't have brought her into this life. But like you said, we have no idea what mind set she was in when they arrived. It's very likely that Jessica's Father had been severely abusive or something and Cyrus promised them protection. Yes, at the end of the day it is the parent's responsibility to get their child out of that sorta situation, but that's what she was trying to do and I can respect that and understand her reasoning for giving her consent for the marriage. Something I really love about this episode is that it shows how well the Team know each other. They were able to understand when one of them was sending a message to them, or what their next move was gonna be and I really like that. All through the episode, Idk if you noticed this, but they were drawing parallels between Reid and Cyrus. Small ones, but they were there. Like how they mentioned that Cyrus could remember anything he read. And then of course that last bit with the "God can tell me himself." "He just did." thing. Best part is, Reid wouldn't have known that Cyrus had said that in the past, so he unintentionally quoted him. They're always doing that though, paralleling Reid with the Unsubs... Poor guy... The guy Hotch went off on was Karen's Dad from Shameless! That's where you know him from... :) That scene was so good though! Hotch is so badass and the fact that the guy just immediately backed down because Hotch is a scary MF. I love Hotch so much! I love all of them! <333 I get what you mean about them doing kinda a Waco based episode. But at the same time, this sorta thing does happen, and that is what the show is about. But I do get what you mean.

2021-10-08 00:18:39 +0000 UTCTo answer your question, Yes the actress who plays JJ is pregnant, they wrote her pregnancy into the story. I'll say more when we get further along so you aren't spoiled. More Badass Hotch! I swear he gets more attractive to me every time he goes off on people being stupid! :P Thank fuck Rossi was able to delay the team long enough for Cyrus to confirm his theory that he was testing them about the poison. That would of been catastrophic if they just charged in there! I mean at least the lady still has her granddaughter?
