I also prefer Fauxlivia’s hair. It was also really great to see Charlie again, despite the circumstances. I’m really excited to see the next season again. I’ve nearly caught up though. That’s a problem. You know how you said that if you’re informed of episodes that should be watched back to back you’ll do that…? My memory doesn’t work so well due to brain damage but, if I remember correctly, the whole of seasons four and five are designed to be watched back to back… you buying that? Hehehe 🤭

2022-04-27 01:11:21 +0000 UTCThis is a great season finale! And the whole situation an plot is so interesting and complicated... One of the most interesting parts about this show for me is the fact that while Walter is such a likable character and everybody who watches the show loves him, you can make a very sound argument that he IS the 'villain' or the 'bad guy'; you said in your commentary that "of course the Walter from the other world would paint them as villains" but the reality is that Why wouldn't he? You can go as far as to say that Walter is the overarching villain of the series so far: He opened a door the other side not only taking Peter away from his real parents but also creating a series of life ending, world changing events that specially affected the other side creating there events of such magnitude that screwed over a lot of that world... That was all Walters doing no matter his reasons or his intentions. There are also all the experiments that he worked on during his life that were not only dangerous but highly unethical... Half of the cases that we have episode by episode tie into him somehow, he either invented such experiment or worked on it On a more personal level there are the experiments that he conducted on Olivia and the other children, which again is insanely wrong, awful and it also kickstarted a bunch of problems and suffering for the kids and the rest of the world around them... We know that bringing Petter back wasn't the only way that Walter 'affected' Petter; he also was not a good father or husband, we know that Petter wasn't very happy growing up and that's the reason why at the beginning of the show he has no interest in seeing his father again; etc. etc. etc. It is amazing that a character that appears so relatable, fun and well loved as Walter can also be called the 'big bad' of the series... Even the radicalization of the other Walter can be tied to our Walter's actions and how it affected not only him personality but the whole world he lives in.

2021-11-23 15:28:22 +0000 UTCCharlie!! But yeah they could have stayed behind since they were pretty useless once they crossed over. That was the only thing I disliked about the episode. BUT OLIVIA AND PETER KISSED! I didn't know how much I wanted that to happen until it did, lmao.

2021-11-19 01:02:16 +0000 UTCAside from a brief cameo in Star Trek: Into Darkness, this was Leonard Nimoy's last live action role and he really went out with a bang. He brought so much to the role of William Bell and he was great in his scenes with John Noble. I can't believe we're already through 2 seasons!

2021-11-17 23:53:40 +0000 UTCLove this season finale and thank you for the double episode upload! The red credits are a superb idea, just like the 1985 credits we had in the episode Peter, and tells us exactly which universe we are in. The opening scenes with the alternate Fringe team with Fauxlivia (fans name for alternate Olivia) and more amazingly Charlie (!!!) launch us into a weird and wonderful story. Good also to see that there are an alternate Astrid and Broyles. Like you, I agree that the 3 people that helped Olivia get over to the other side deserved a better fate. They could have easily had them open a portal for Olivia and Walter to cross through but stay on their side. Small quibble but they did die for no apparent reason. Love the same details like the Rocky Horror ring tone, every universe needs a Tim Curry Frankenfurter, and another guest appearance by the immortal Leonard Nimoy. Looking forward to season 3!
