Late to the reaction but i feel like the writers didn't know what to do with Enzo's character this season, I actually enjoyed his character in s5. The writers seem to love using Stefan and bonnie as their punching bags every season, so of course they give Enzo this shit storyline. Also Liz's storyline this season is so heartbreaking it was hard to watch tbh, but it felt refreshing to have something human like cancer in a show about the supernatural, even though its so sad.
