This episode is so messed up! It's really difficult to know who to blame, like you said, because everyone involved was always just groomed and conditioned to do all this. I mean, if you can't blame the little boy, you really can't blame the Dad either because once upon a time, he was that kid. He was that little boy being groomed to kill and kidnap and steal and groom. And the Mum was once the little girl being kidnapped and her parents getting murdered and being groomed to be the wife. They didn't really know that what they were doing was wrong, they were just doing what was normal for them. What they were taught. It'd be SO easy to just blame the Dad, he's in charge and he's the one teaching this kid to do all this, but he was taught it too and it's just so horrible because everyone involved was a victim once. I feel so bad for Jordan. I liked her, I know she gets a lot of hate because she's not JJ and because she wasn't as able to handle the job as JJ. But in a way, isn't that a good thing for some people? Not saying that the Team being able to compartmentalise things and not let these things affect them as much is a bad thing or makes them bad people or anything, but for some people the second you start really being able to do that it just kills a part of you. I mean, it's like Garcia said back in like S2 at some point, I think it was when Reid was kidnapped by Hankel and JJ wanted to watch one of the videos because she was feeling unable to do the job, but Garcia said about how when you let these things stop effecting you then you lose a part of yourself, or something like that. That line always stuck with me because it's true. Even though they're able to compartmentalise, certain things still really effect them, and all the cases they take make them upset because they just see so much bad and honestly, you'd likely lose so much faith in humanity with all they see... I really did like that it was a topic for discussion this episode though. That they brought it up. Because it is pretty interesting, and really sad. Plus, there were probably some viewers who thought certain members of the team came off as uncaring because of the fact that they don't let it show when cases effect them. They can't afford to let it effect them, because it could jeopardise the case and put lives on the line. We've seen it before that sometimes when someone working the case gets too emotionally involved they can't think straight and start shoving the blame on people who didn't actually do it. Like, back in 2x12 when Morgan was arrested, the guy was so determined to solve the case that he forced Morgan into the profile and wasn't really listening to reason. And even recently with the Cops being murdered, they were determined to pin it on that Gang Leader guy because they were so emotionally involved. Which is why they just can't allow themselves to get emotionally involved. It happens sometimes, like you said, but it doesn't happen to the entire team at the same time and so other members are often able to point out what's happening and try to calm them down and try to get them to look at things more logically. It's really sad though, that they're so used to it all... :( The last scene is so chilling though. Like, we kinda figure through the episode that they're not the only ones doing this, but seeing it right at the end of the episode, leaving it so open ended with more of these families still out there doing this to other kids. Knowing there are more than just this one other family. And knowing that it's likely NEVER going to truly end. They'll never catch all of these families... Even if a few of them get caught, there'll always be more out there and it's just going to keep happening. It's really heartbreaking. The entire situation is. It just breaks my heart to know that people out there actually do things like this. People actually go through these things. Also, gotta say it. I was so relieved when you turned the subtitles off! Haha they were bugging me so much how far ahead they were from when the lines were actually being said... So yeah, I was hoping you'd turn them off and I was so relieved when you did. I also found it kinda funny... Haha how long had they actually been bothering you?
