If you want to see a really great portrayal of DID you should check out Doom Patrol. Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane is phenomenal
Zeudi for President 🤌🏼

2022-01-25 02:15:54 +0000 UTCI love this episode. Jackson Rathbone really is amazing! And I really love that Amanda wanted to protect Adam. She cared about him, and came out in order to keep him safe. I do agree that it's so difficult with DID episodes, because of the stigma around the Disorder. So many people don't understand that it doesn't make someone a killer or a bad person. But the thing with Criminal Minds is that it's about the minds of killers, usually killers with some sort of trauma or mental illness. So most of the time, the people with things like DID are going to be portrayed as the Unsub. BUT, in my opinion they do a really good job of showing that just because one personality is a killer doesn't mean the other personalities are too, and they do seem to handle it in a good way. I really like that they showed that this affected Reid because of Hankel. I mean, he had to watch Tobias die by his hand after shooting the alternate personality of his Father. He was unable to save Tobias, and so to be unable to save Adam too would just be a slap to the face. So of course, until he's absolutely certain Adam's never coming back, he likely won't give up. Even if we don't see it. And I really like that he was the one to continuously point out that Adam and Amanda are different people inside the same body. It all just makes sense, he would be very defensive of that I think, because of the whole Tobias Hankel thing. And I really enjoyed his talk with Morgan at the end. Unfortunately, Morgan is right. They can't save everyone. (Which is why I do enjoy episodes where they don't manage to save the final victim, it just feels more realistic than them showing up right in time to stop it... Though I do like when there's a slightly happy ending...) It would of course be nice if they could save everyone, but they can't and that is just something they have to accept. But I do get why you wouldn't want to accept that. It's horrible to think about.

2022-01-25 02:15:39 +0000 UTCThere are episodes in the later seasons that have people with DID without them being the killer. :)

2022-01-25 00:51:08 +0000 UTCYou brought up great points. I don’t think I’ve ever seen DID portrayed in a way that wasn’t negative. Split, Bates Motel there’s so many like this episode. It sucks because media is so impactful. And fictionalising real life stuff kind of like how real catastrophic world events are made into movies is always iffy. However I really felt for the characters this episode especially Adam. The idea of Amanda taking over the body was kind of sweet? Like protecting Adam from the repercussions of what she did. I feel for Reid too because now Adam is no longer in control of his body. But there is literally nothing to be done. And OMG I did not realise that was Jasper from Twilight. I can’t believe that.
