Elijah is King of the Red Door. It was Elijah who told the family a thousand years ago to never leave anyone alive Klaus was and will always be more moral cuz Elijah hid his evil deeds behind a door to absolve himself

Facts Kol and Finn were included in always and forever they didn’t know they were going to use those characters so we didn’t see them

Kol and Finn was involved in always in forever just like when Elijah helped Esther and Mikael steal Klaus’ wolf side from him Rebekah, Finn and Kol watched and did nothing. They didn’t know they were going to use Kol or Finn they didn’t know they would create the originals show but this is showing that they were always included disregard the scene from season three of TVD this is the new cannon.

I think in TVD Rebekah said that fear kept the people in their homes as they realised they weren't human. Also, I love that in the flashback in has Klaus and Elijah trying to include Kol and Finn in the Always and Forever vow but they weren't having it. It's kinda sad really. I get the feeling that they didn't want to be forced into certain parts of what that vow meant for Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah, but then as time went on the three of them likely started pushing them out a bit because they rejected the vow and eventually it got to the point where they barely felt that they even considered them family and then of course the daggering stuff started and just made it all worse. It's really sad seeing them all in the flashbacks this episode though, how they were a family and they were all together, yet we know that things got really bad between them. I just find it interesting that Klaus and Elijah kinda tried to include them in the vow in those flashbacks, yet Kol always felt left out and so it obviously had to have started somewhere... It's also really sad to see Klaus be so remorseful about killing people. Like, all through that first flashback scene at the start he was like a totally different person and I love that they showed that it wasn't just that he became a vampire and was suddenly a monster, it took time. He started out really caring about people, and feeling bad after they killed them. He's even the one who had the deciding vote on whether to kill Lucien or not and he chose to let him live. Also, I love that him liking horses is a continued thing. They started it in TVD and they just always continued it and it's just really sweet to me... :)
