You're right they know how to put on a front in public. My father was a child abuser. Outside the house everyone loved him. He performed free shows, singing for the old folk's home residents and put on shows in the local village hall. He helped anyone with anything and he was funny, witty, friendly and everyone's best friend. When I was in primary school, aged 4 or 5, the Santa they'd booked called in sick a few hours before he was supposed to show up, so the first person they thought of to replace him at short notice was my child-abusing father. The whole school full of 3-6 year olds lined up to sit on his knee and everyone was so grateful to him for dropping everything to help out the kiddies. In real life there's no hero turning up at the last second to save you. A few years ago I went back to the village I was born in and one of the local stores was still run by the same guy who'd run it 30 years earlier. I told him I remembered him and when I told him my name he started telling the friend I'd gone with (for backup you understand lol) what a great guy my father was and all the hings he did to help the local community. 30 years later! He knew how to put on a show alright.

2022-07-24 16:38:29 +0000 UTCThis is such a great episode. Very personal story for Reese and some very interesting reveals for Carter and Harold. Fun "fact": if you remember, way back in episode 4 the story ended suddenly with Reese and the date-rapist guy sitting with the gun between them. It's commonly speculated that he ended up in that mexican prison, possibly alongside Peter Arndt. No proof, but seems like that is what their hinting at with Carter asking if there's any other americans there and the warden saying 1 or 2.... Also, very much looking forward to the end of the season and more! Season 1 is solid, but they're only getting started ;)
