I agree with you about Amy Acker. I'd never seen her in anything before and didn't know the name or that she'd be returning so I just thought she was that week's pretty, intelligent victim of an obsessed suitor or some creep who couldn't deal with a woman being smart or in a position of power or whatever. The psychiatrist setting biased my thinking somewhat lol. She had such an aura about her that I was fascinated every time she was on screen. I totally believed her in that role, though. The reveal and the way she played Root subsequently was an amazing transformation and she blew me away. She quickly became one of my favourite actresses. Very talented, and amazing as a very intimidating, believable badass.
