I get your issues with Gordon and I pretty much concur. I suppose it's really an issue with the show in general. We know Penguin, Nygma, Selina, etc. all have to survive, so the stakes aren't very high. But the writers have done a much better job of making their stories interesting and the actors really shine. Same with Bruce and Alfred. All of the characters seem pretty true to what we've always seen from them. Except Gordon. Gordon was never an ass kicking supercop. Maybe he was in the comics, I don't really know about that. But from what we've seen in prior movies and TV, Gordon was just an honest cop, not a badass. I get that this show wanted to make Gordon more heroic, but it just doesn't feel right and knowing he lives well into the future pretty much eliminates any concern we might have for his well being. But I never watched this show for Gordon, and he doesn't make or break the show. He's fine. He has to be there. All the other characters are what I'm here for. Up until the Gordon plot armor kicked in, this was a pretty good episode. Actually seemed like a Halloween episode, so very appropriate in that sense. Looks like Selina, Tabitha, Barbara, and Ivy are gonna have a prototype Birds of Prey side quest going on, so that should be fun.
