Now we have dimensional engineering. Coupled with time distortion which we've had before in previous episodes. While these are not sci-fi tropes exclusively indicative of Who. As the oldest and longest running sci-fi show, my thoughts can often make connections there. Great to see the scene transition runes actually making a different appearance in the show. Everytime I rewatch, I think this time I'll have the alphabet in front of me and I'll decipher each episode. But I'm always so engrossed and never begin from the first episode. One day I actually will. Another peice of the puzzle. β A good subtle reminder that Walter's memories are different to Peters and Olivias. As this is still a continuation from the reset time line. Perhaps making the events of that episode with the observer child not as relevant. So as their path was potentially different but cleverly still not defined. So they are able to utilise their part in the story in either the same or different ways. Making any practical level of scrutiny close to impossible. As they say in Who. WWTW π

2022-11-11 11:58:43 +0000 UTCOh boy this episode... Peter is my favourite character for a reason and his descent into the pits of revenge/grief is one of the best storyline of the show imo, loved how gradual his transformation is in this episode, you can see him slowly tilting his head at times, then he is able to easily navigate the pocket universe by memory, then he can fight and move like an observer and at last he can see like them, so so good. The pocket universe in itself is amazing, a twisted limbo that only Walter could have come up with, also the child is back!! I was so glad that they brought him back into the show because it was one of those mysteries that i really wanted an answer to and this time we confim that he is indeed an observer hidden away by Walter and Donald who we get a glimpse of for the first time in the background... Loved all the stuff with the symbols on the doors, there are so many cool callbacks and easter eggs this season. And then the final couple of scenes are just perfect, Peter's fight with the observer remains to this day one of the coolest scenes in the show for me and so rewarding to watch as the audience, you really feel all of Peter's anger and you cheer him on because finally some payback is on the way for these beings that always seemed untouchable but at the same time you are scared for him, then after when Windmark looks at him it almost looks like he is smirking but then right behind him is Etta, the two symbols of the season, Windmark representing falling into temptation and losing your way (revenge) and Etta representing resisting temptation and sticking to the plan (hope). That final conversation was heartbreaking with Walter afraid of losing the man Peter helped him become (and it's true in two different timelines XD) and Peter promising him that he will not let him go while knowing that he is willingly losing himself in his quest for revenge, all of that while Olivia looks on knowing something is wrong with him but not knowing what yet, like i said before this season explores grief in a beautiful/tragic way and Peter's journey is one of those ways, in terms of writing/pacing the second part of season 5 starting with this episode is at the top of the show with very little competition imo so i'm hyped to see your reactions in the next few weeks, can't wait!!
