I mentioned last week that it might be nice to thrown a curve ball every once and a while when the shows formula gets a little tedious. This one is an absolute corker. Nicely builds on the mystery of Red John. You'll have noted the smiley face was in the correct usage. He sees it through the window first, before he sees Hick's body. As Jane described in the first episode, how an actual Red John crime scene is staged to be discovered.
