These are flawed fictional characters in a comedy show intented to make us laugh. Every character has its flaws and does things that would be considered wrong in real life. Some of those things will make some people laugh and others not, but characters in a comedy shouldnt be judged by IRL standards and we shouldnt expect every character to be perfect in every way. The issue with Gina isnt that people only judge things Gina does wrong and ignore what other characters do, every character makes mistakes but Gina is the only one that is treated like she is NOT making any mistakes and is only displayed as a saviour most of the time while behaving like an annoying entitled bitch, which makes for a character that never grows or learns and its just repetitive and boring. The issue isnt in the actual things she does wrong,or what any other character does thats wrong, its in how the show never does anything with her where she can grow or learn or just do anything different. While every character does fucked up shit, at least the show displays them as flawed and makes them grow in certain situations while with Gina, she's just being a bitch that is right all the time and that makes her an uncompelling character. Ofc, this is just my opinion on how comedy and shows are meant to be viewed and my personal view of Gina and the whole situation.

Gina isn’t the only narcissist Jake is to especially cuz there are times he doesn’t need others to help him on cases suspects have gotten away. Jake befriended criminal Doug Judy who has escaped plenty of times cuz of Jake he should have been fired or demoted alone for that. A criminal got away cuz Jake and Charles were on a stakeout got into a fight the criminal spotted them and ran nothing happened to them when it should have. Let’s talk about Gina and her suggestive comments about Terry we can’t say she is bad and everybody else who comments on Terry’s body isn’t bad cuz since the beginning everybody talks about his body. People compare Gina to Wuntch the difference between Wuntch and Gina is she has no power over terry she never touches him or finds ways to touch him. Holt is a subordinate with no power. This leads me to Jake and Amy how can we be mad at Gina but praise Jake who has about what 40 different titles for Amy’s Sex Tapes. he talks about her sex life in front co-workers and suspects he has also talked about her butt a lot. Telling people the titles of ur co-worker’s sex tapes is pique sexual harassment. Jake wasn’t reprimanded or sent to sensitivity classes everybody laughed when Amy wasn’t than the show put them together and they expected us to accept it when we shouldn’t but we did. Now Rosa goes around harming fellow cops physically or emotionally for no reason or belittling them in front of other cops like she did that one rookie cop who made a simple mistake. They wrote in police brutality cuz it was happening in our world Gina said she had suggestions but Amy and Holt put her down refused her opinion cuz since she has no badge she can’t help it was alarming cuz it was coming from two minority cops. Amy and Holt thought posters would help until they finally put their cop narcissism aside they found out the Gina had good points cops can be the most narcissistic people on earth who feel they have all the answers. Gina is just an assistant the show never shows what she does when they do she comes through Holt keeps her around for a reason her job in the context of the show is not interesting but I can guarantee she does her job better than Hitchcock and scully who her wasting the tax payers money what do they do other than sit and eat all day long. There are a lot of people on this show we should have a problem with gina shouldn’t be the only person from the 99 there alone is all I’m saying cuz when u think about Jake’s actions towards Amy we shouldn’t want them to be together. When Jake names a sex tape Terry is there laughing with the rest of them everybody on this show needs to be called out I’m just saying Gina isn’t the only one at least she is not in a relationship with Terry like Jake and Amy. Holt does nothing about the other stuff going on he reprimands no one. I know this episode Jake took a case gleefully cuz he thinks there’s a possibility he can see a female victims nudes suggesting she has nudes to begin with Rosa should have check him but she didn’t no one checks each other.

Hitchcock and Scully are an impediment to the precinct, yet they can continue contribute nothing worthwhile - heck, Hitchcock is basically walking sexual harrassment and they just... let him? Jake has been a terrible friend to Charles, his "best friend", for 4 seasons now and fans don't bat an eye - and the show itself also never addresses how dismissive and belittling Jake is (and neither do most fans!). And Rosa straight-up injures her co-workers and everybody loves her (me included! :D). I get not loving Gina, but I find that the fans are weirdly focused on her being "unrealistic" or not getting "punished", when pretty much all the characters are unrealistic and get by without negative consequences, and literally all of them would be fired in the real world.
