Men Not Welcomed: Systematic Discrimination in Social Nudity Against Men

In the context of social nudity, over 70% of participants are men. This disparity arises due to societal pressures on women regarding their physical appearance, making it much more challenging for them to participate. Additionally, the inappropriate behavior of some men creates an environment where women fear for their safety. To combat this, many clubs, groups, and communities have implemented policies aimed at reducing the participation of men. However, these policies often lead to exclusion and discrimination against men.

The problem with this approach is that it doesn't effectively address the root causes of inappropriate behavior. Instead, it creates an artificial environment, limits the growth of the nudist community, and excludes individuals who could be valuable members. Furthermore, it exacerbates the significant social issue of male loneliness.

In this video, I will discuss the different policies and how they are discriminatory:

• Gender Balance Ratio:

  • These policies limit the ratio of men to women. Some clubs enforce a 50-50 ratio, usually for couple-only events, while others use ratios like 60-40 or 70-30. These policies often limit the number of single men allowed, sometimes requiring them to invite a female friend.

  • These policies affect men with textile partners, single heterosexual men, and gay men.

  • Finding a partner in modern society can be challenging. Studies show that fewer men are able to find female partners, contributing to feelings of loneliness, a significant mental health issue for men. Excluding them reinforces this unwanted idea.

  • Men with female partners who aren’t interested in social nudity are prohibited from participating in something they are passionate about.

  • This policy is also homophobic as it targets gay men and gay couples, punishing them for not having female partners.

• Additional Cost for Men:

  • Many places charge higher fees for men compared to couples or single females, sometimes making it much more expensive for men to attend alone than with a female companion. In some places, women can participate for free, effectively imposing a "tax" based on gender. For many, participating in this lifestyle is already prohibitively expensive, and these additional costs make it even less affordable.

• Guilty Until Proven Otherwise:

  • This subtle form of discrimination involves allowing solo men but subjecting them to numerous hoops that women are not required to jump through. Once admitted, these men are often treated as potentially dangerous until they gain the trust of the organization or staff.

By addressing these discriminatory policies, we can create a more inclusive and equitable environment for everyone interested in social nudity. It’s crucial to tackle the inappropriate behavior directly rather than implementing exclusionary policies that harm the community and exacerbate social issues like male loneliness.
