Dev Blog 16 | Jel's Cafe | Nearing the end of Pre alpha

Hey everyone, I've been working on and off on the game inbetween the patreon rewards and some YCH work too so I don't have too much to share this week.

There is also no new build at the moment and it'll likely be released next week.

JEL'S CAFE PROGRESS

Unlockable Tilesheets:

I've now added the ability to purchase floors and wallpapers from the Moth's prop shop, there are 3 placeholder recolours that look horrible but function as intended. Tilesheets can be swapped around with the decorate option that Bliss has at the end of the day. This feature will be expanded in the future.

UI Submenus:

I've added some new sub menus to most of the store vendors. What this means is instead of choosing options in the dialouge box like you used to, you are now taken to a menu similar to the elevator from Drawing with Nat, these sub menus then have different options and categories. For example, the Prop shop has the options: "Props" "Tilesheets" and "Back".

These UI's functions are comlpted but like everything else in the pre alpha, has very barebones art which will be cleaned in the future.

Lastly the bug fixes! The amount of feedback I've had from the last build has been amazing and incredibly helpful. The people who've helped me out have had their names added to the credits file.

Bug fixes:

- Fixed the punch clock appearing on the floor and also sometimes disappearing.

- Fixed a bug where the player would turn into Nat after using the decoration screen with Bliss.

- Fixed the kitchen door being inconsistent with the rest of the cafe doors.

- Fixed Phoebe repeating dialouge after giving them their special gift item.

Thats it for now, I'm going to continue working on the game over the next week. The last thing I need to add is the 4th seat upgrade, which requires me to add at least a minimum of 10 customers to the game. To speed this process up I'm going to just make placeholder characters that reuse dialouge.

I'll have more details and hopefully the last pre alpha build available next week!
