Shadar-Kai: Yes I own a trenchcoat, why do you ask?
Added 2022-01-31 19:01:01 +0000 UTCWhile I am quite sure that nobody needs this many shadar-kai, the dark pact I have made with my patrons demands I continue.
The Painbearer is that CR 7 chain-wielder I promised. His spiked chain has a sickle on the end of it, but the edge doesn't stop there. He can throw this chain-sickle through shadow portals, and can use it to drag you through the shadow realm, dealing a bunch of necrotic damage.
The Gloomblade is a CR 8 sneaky-heavy. He's invisible in dim light or darkness, provides a nice aura buff that gives all his gloomy allies something like the Mobile feat, and his Greatsword gives you sunlight sensitivity. He's also got an improved version of the Warrior's Gloom Cage which can now target two creatures.

2022-01-31 20:42:44 +0000 UTCThe trait says "for the purposes of making attacks", and the attack says "if this movement pulls the creature through one of the shadar-kai's shadow portals" so I think the issue is probably that I relied on the flavor of the name to imply the existence of the portals, rather than just stating it. I updated the file with some clarified wording, let me know if that makes it a little more sensible.

2022-01-31 20:06:41 +0000 UTCThe intent is for it to work like a bunch of Arcane Gates that only objects can safely pass through, so it functionally extends the range of the Painbearer's attacks by 30 ft., and they can drag you through one of those portals to do a bunch of necrotic damage. The fact that I can't assume a grid of 5 ft. squares makes it tough to really clarify the language without two or three paragraphs, and I felt that keeping it concise was more important in this instance than making it precise.
