I think you're definitely right about Reid having a darker side than you'd expect. I mean, he's literally the character fans would most like to see as an Unsub, and there's a reason for that. Every now and then we get kinda a glimpse of this darker side to him, like you said he can be very cold when he's angry. And we often see him relating to the Unsubs, way more often than anyone else does. (Honestly, an episode I always wished we got was the team are like snowed in somewhere and they're joking around when someone makes a comment about how if Reid were an Unsub they'd all be doomed because they would never catch him. Now, that's at the start of the episode, and then from then on we kinda go into this alternate timeline thing where he IS an Unsub and the team are all trying desperately to catch him, and there's narration coming from the real versions of them, fighting over whether they'd say or do something. And either they end up catching him in the end of the episode or they don't, doesn't really matter how it turns out. I just think it would've been a fun little episode. That or they're joking around about it and then something happens and Reid is unconscious or in a coma or whatever and he has a dream where he's an Unsub and it ends with him waking up and just being so relieved that none of that was real... I just think it would've been an interesting episode, just kinda fun and different...)
