The Expanse S3E12&13

Once again, I'm really behind on these reactions lol But yay! I can finally say it! Ashford is by far one of my favorite characters in this series. Easily top 5. Such a well-written character, and amazing acting on David Strathairn's part. I love him. I'm so happy to hear you say you like him. Wildly enough, in the book he is an absolutely irredeemable, unrepentant, unlikeable asshole. I am so so so very grateful they decided to change his character for the show. One of the best book>tv show changes they made imo. The whole thing about the whole Ashford vs Holden's group in that final confrontation is so good. Ashford or any of them not being the "villain," or at least truly in the wrong in the end - which you and Anna both pointed out as well. They both thought they were doing the right thing in that situation (even though we, as an audience, obviously knew Holden's way was the truly right way haha). Such a cool piece of writing. I love the whole Anna and Amos dynamic. The way she was so completely fascinating and otherworldly to Amos. Like he has clearly never encountered a person like her in his entire life, someone so completely benevolent and understanding, and immediately wanted to make sure nothing ever happened to her. Loved the "I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you" line I also like the full-circle moment of Melba using the mistake with the buffers that Ren (her mentor that she killed in the earlier episodes) warned her about, in order to shut down the comm-laser. Such an amazing season. By far my favorite of the 6. A lot of people consider the next season to be "slow" or "boring", but I love it a lot and never quite understood the hate. You're already 3 episodes in as of right now, so I'm excited to see how you're liking it so far!
