Added 2022-02-27 14:08:22 +0000 UTCThe heavy load on world maps has been a bother for a while, it's time to become a serious game dev and try to fix it.
In this new adventure, which I'd expect to take away about a week, I'm redoing from scratch the processes that are used to calculate how/when the armies move on the overworld map. Why? Let's see...
- around 50 fewer events on the Northern World Map alone (I suspect this is the main cause of the low framerate)
- Once in place, this new system would allow me to complete the warring part of a new Reign's development in... minutes?
- Forget about forced routes to reach a Reign's castle, now every part of the map could host battles, depending on who is involved
Once complete, adding Oni to overworld battles will be a joke, and I'll be able to quickly move on to the development of their Colosseum! This sort of optimization is vital to move out of Early Access without making people laugh at me too...
