Hahaha! You looked so taken aback by a lot of the Amos stuff this episode. Which is valid, honestly, as they throw a LOT at us out of nowhere. A lot of it was hinted at in the past though, like Lydia, the Amos Burton = mob boss thing (which you find out this episode means the real Amos Burton that is dead and not our Amos), him being a child prostitute, etc. They barely scratched the surface of the full thing though, and just gave the tv show audience enough of the big things to satisfy their need for answers. If you do want to ever read the full, detailed backstory, there is a short side-story written by the author of the books called The Churn that is all about Amos and his childhood. It's absolutely amazing, and definitely worth the read if you're curious and confused and want to get hear the full story. And no, Erich is not his real brother. More like close, known-each-other since-they-were-kids brothers like you said haha I'm so excited for the next episode! This season is amazing, 2nd only to season 3 for me! Thank you for the reaction as always~ :)
