December 2020 Modular Items

As most of you voted for the modular release for December, this whole month was A LOT of work to prepare those items worthy of a truly versatile pack.

I'm presenting most of the modular weapons, heads, cloaks and items available for next month.

Weapon attachment is straightforward - ball joint and socket on wrist.

Heads should work for all models, as they share one "scarf" item. This scarf item also should connect all cloaks in a smooth way.

There is also a modular quiver, that is placed on a pouch (really awesome idea from Filip Polach)!

As for minis (which I will share renders of soon), each unit type will have pose variants.

A non-combat hero model will also be included.

As this is the largest pack as of yet, the December pack will come no sooner than the 7th day of the month (all need to be pre-supported and print tested, as usual).

I hope that's ok with you!

I wasn't one either, but with time I started liking this release ;) But I get your point and those are not going to be common releases. You can of course use the customizer and make a fused model for printing (no pre-supports though).

Ok. My point was for those of us who are not fans of modular design. Printing and gluing tons of tiny parts seems like a punishment...not a perk. :-)

Don't worry - such packs will come from time to time when we reach certain points when it's appropriate ;)

Is modular releases the way this Patreon will go in the future? It will be nice to know before the Patreon renews in January.

Much more than I imagined initially, but the items list grew and grew :D

So much kitbashing about to happen!

Very cool!

By patrons, I actually meant "us", the supporters, haha, but yes, you're right, many artists on here offer the weapons as isolated props as well. And since I figure you have to make the weapons before attaching the hands first anyway, that would only be a logistical matter. Although I do realize that logistics take time doing, too. Much appreciated, anyways!

Marc Hutsebaut

That's not a big problem for me to throw them in :) I know some big Patreons do that, so I think it's somewhat expected!

Nor would I expect them to be. Presupporting straightforward objects is, erm, straightforward. And since they would be for remixing anyway - putting them on furniture, attaching to characters - that would not even be necessary. I have no idea if other patrons feel the same way about loose weapons?

Marc Hutsebaut

Thank you! Can do, but those will not be pre-supported :)

Absolutely fantastic. Just wondering: do you have the weapons separately, as well, without the hands? I, for one, like sprucing up my models, sceneries and set pieces with additional side arms and decorative elements, to make them even more modular.

Marc Hutsebaut

Glad you like those! I'd be blown away if I saw a full army printed with thos <3

Thank you so much! It's exhausting, yet refreshing to make something with a completely different pipeline than usual. I've locked-down the ball-and-socket joint part, so future modular packs should work all together. But I do appreciate the suggestion to add an expansion to this bundle as a goal! Awesome idea! I guess it will depend on the reception of this bundle in the community ;)

This is awesome! They will make a great Oathmark Army :D

Heppla

Absolutely incredible. I know this must have been a lot of work. I would love to see more additions to this down the line, like maybe as a stretch goal? I feel like since this is such a huge faction in the LOTR universe that more options for army building will never get old. Incredible work!

DustlessOrphan

Thank you! I hope those will be of aid when creating an awesome army!

This all looks awesome!
