Ghost Army - Customizer Poll

Hi gang!

According to the Roadmap, next month is time for the Ghost Army to arrive.

First of all - if you are not familiar with our Customizer, please take a look here first: https://www.theprintinggoeseveron.com/customizer/
The web app allows you to configure miniatures from a bundle you own, then export as many as you like, forever. You can export a merged model or the pre-supported ready to print bits to assemble it manually.

I've received various comments regarding the customizer - many of you enjoy it greatly, while it's not useful for others.

So, I'd like to ask you how you'd prefer to see the next 2 months unfold.

Most of the customizer bundles have been the culmination of a theme, providing the option for both unique monolith (non-modular) models, as well as the modular minis. This would mean we would spend 2 months with the Ghost Army theme, first making the non-modular models, then adding the customizer bundle in May.

The other option would be to make the monolith models in April, and make the ghost army customizer a separate one-time project (not as a monthly Patreon bundle). This way, if you are into customizing your army with modular minis, you can still be sure it will be developed. At the same time, we won't be spending 2 months in a fairly narrow theme.
This approach would also provide a much cheaper way for new users to collect the previous customizer bundles as Add-Ons.

Customizer is the best

Make more money & hire more talent! :)

That's a really awesome idea! I'm not sure it would be doable on a monthly basis, but it's something I will surely look into!

Sometimes I want to make 6 or 12 of the same figure for that clean, well-disciplined soldier look. Other times I want to make completely random figures for the mob of orcs charging the city gates. I really like the customizer. I would like to see new Patreon tiers introduced. Level 1 would be the great set of minis that you all do each month. Level 2 would be the customizer-only and level 3 would be both. I'd be willing to pay more to get both. I can imagine different species, more weapons, armor, etc.

@Ryan Smith - this is still fantasy land, getting a pre-supported assembled model that is of the same support quality as hand placed pillars :/

Just my take, I like the idea of the customizers alot, however I really like the ease of printing fully intact unipart models. It would be awesome to somehow be able to have fully supported models come out of the customizer instead of in pieces. I am sure that would be very difficult however. I do like the idea of releasing a few pre supported ready minis in it!

I get what you mean. I'm easy. I guess variety would be good, maybe making the customiser a standalone thing would be better. Either way I'm happy though.

That's an interesting take! If the customizer month also had pre-supported ready minis made in it, would it be cool?

Thanks for the input! The minis are generally quite flexible for many systems :) Unfortunately, making just the customizer is not possible, that's why the 2 months involved in the process :/

To add, having read the other comments, ghost army sounds good. It's all about execution. I'm not altogether negative or positive about it at this point.

I use the customiser quite a bit and really love the functionality. For me, it comes down to the usability and flexibility of the bits that would be available in the customiser. I'd love to see a preview of the designs, and then make a decision.. The questions I have are about whether they are going to be flexible for other game systems, as well as MESBG.. things like frostgrave etc. The builder could be better than monolithic static poses. What about doing just a customiser?

I love having the sculpts all put together and have no interest creating my own so a customizer month on a theme that is (as you note!) pretty narrow is not appealing. I did have a thought - and it might be too much of an ask, but maybe the non-customizer crowd (which looking at the poll seems to be a minority, but a large one!) could be kept happy with some models from an earlier chapter. I'm not keen on the customizer, but if I had the option to forgo that to get (or in addition, if you're feeling super generous!) got an earlier chapter that I didn't have yet, I wouldn't care about new stuff. Just a thought!

Ghost army is not really my jam, but that's ok. I'll keep supporting you as that's how Patreon works - not about picking and choosing. Would be good to follow up the next few months with some new elves though!

Perhaps there could be something interesting in there for you though? Any pointers?

Have no interest in the ghost army.. so two months of them sounds like hell!

I would be in the same boat

Another month, just moved from May to June ๐Ÿค— But there is an amazing ship brewing up, so it's well worth the wait!

Gotcha, good that I asked then!

Having something included in the monthly patreon release and then having something released only for sale separately that is that closely related would likely annoy me enough to leave...

I'm most looking forward for the Pirates. Ghosts should be great too. Will they be ghost pirates instead if you go with 2 months of ghosts or will they be on another month? Just as long as there are pirates :))

So, option A would be the best of both worlds for you ๐Ÿ˜„

While generally the pre-posed models are what I use, the builder (or at least the bits) are great for more custom units. Battle Companies are a great example - I needed a horse lord who looked like they were flinging a spell. Customizer to the rescue.

Yup, riders planned for sure! I totally understand your point - that's why I felt the need to ask the Community to find the most popular approach ๐Ÿ˜Š

Looking forward to ghost hoping to see some riders ๐Ÿ˜Š however from a selfish point of view I quite like getting different stuff/ faction each month โ˜บ๏ธ

I would like to see D&D monsters. By the way I hate glueing the models section by section.
