Video Q&A #1: submit your questions before Wed 15 July

Hi everyone, I am hoping to shoot my first video Q&A session soon. Please give me things to respond to by replying to this message within Patreon's system. They could be questions about the comics that I've published to date, the underlying topics, or anything else you're curious about. I will try to answer as many as I can.

Comments

Some questions, please pick, choose, and edit as you please: * Why do you select the stories and explanations you do? (and also 'how' in regards to selecting between stories) * Are you picking stories that have changed you? Or that you hope change others? Or perhaps stores that are interesting in their own right? * What stories do you particularly avoid? * You seem to focus on ensuring there is a good explanation behind each work: what sort of roles do you see yourself filling in this regard? (eg: historian, teacher, student, researcher of explanations and methods of delivering them, etc) * Are you interested in exploring political ideas in future works? * What thoughts come to mind when considering more speculative economic ideas such as complementary currencies or novel monies like Bitcoin? Would they be appropriate for your unique style? * What do you see in your future if you can continue your work indefinitely? * How do you see yourself fitting into the world in general with the work you do? Do you feel a moral imperative to cover the stories you cover, or are they simply matters of interest? * If you could cover anything and have everyone in the world read (and understand!) one comic, what would it be? And some more general questions: * What are you most excited about? * Are you a pessimist or optimist in regards to the future of people? (human race or AI or any sort of person) * Do you like living in Canberra? I am considering moving there. * Is that your Dad asking about your hair? Gah! Parents, right? (I'm not actually serious about this question) Thanks, Max

- can you answer the simple question of how many energy slaves you are yourself let do part of the job you get paid for? I mean, make a rought calculation of how much energy (kWh, MJ) your computer needs, your communication devieces, your printers ... and the servers run by patronage systems ...

Energytheory

One more question: following Einstein there is only one thing with unlimited dimension: human stupidity. - Do you think that we will find a way away from fossil fuels in time - shifting to the nearly unlimited source of energy streaming each day from sun onto earth? - What would the four guys in you comic have answered to this question?

Energytheory

Hey Stuart, well, some content related questions from my side: - do you think the story between energy and economics is finally answered? - do you think the economic theory in itself is complete for now - or incomplete? - the importance of role of energy in economics: If you get today the message from a Mars radio station telling about the size of the eocnomy of Mars was 1880 billion Mars dollar last year ... and that is all you get. What do you really know about that economy? Would the energy tell a different story? - will you draw a meeting of all the four guys at the end? (Marion King Hubbert, Herman Daly, Buckminster Fuller and Simon Kuznets) -

Energytheory

How do you approach getting all the facts straight?
