Tummy Update 3: Movin' Right Along
Added 2016-06-25 14:24:52 +0000 UTCOkay! Saw the doc, all good news. White blood count is back down, scans show significant reduction in swelling. Good progress. They're starting me on liquids again and they want to do one more day of IV antibiotics for good measure and then I get to go home! The scans also show a bunch of other diverticula that arent doing so hot, like little land mines in my colon. So this isn't over yet. The plan as of right now is to let the healing continue and in six weeks or so I'll get surgery to get that segment of colon removed. So I'm still not out of the woods but I do have a woods map. Or something. Anyway, it looks like we may have avoided the worst case scenario, so I'm pretty happy for a guy with a hole in his guts. Thanks to everyone who has been sending thoughts and well wishes, it means a lot to me to know you've got my back.

Here's to colon removal. Who needs it? I mean, what's it ever done for you?
