Goats 4 Kickstarter Update (No Really)

Crossposting this here since so many of you were backers of the disaster that was the Goats Book 4 Kickstarter. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Hey! Most of you that are reading this got your Goats IV Kickstarter rewards a long, long time ago. That's great! I hope you're enjoying those rewards. 

About 8% of you still haven't received yours yet. It's inexcusable that it took this long.  Yeah, I know. I'm awful. In my defense, I was extremely stupid in the way I went about things. 

The one thing that really hurt us the most was running out of Books 2 and 3 to fulfill the multi-book rewards. Since those books were out of print, and reprints were prohibitively expensive, we were kind of stuck for a solution. And I was determined not to do another Kickstarter until you all had your rewards from the last one. 

We brainstormed a number of ideas over the last couple of years but everything kind of fell apart in the end. Finally, we decided that the only way we could raise the money to do the reprints was to do another Kickstarter, which, of course, was exactly the thing I had been determined not to do. 

So later this week (assuming all goes well) I'll be launching the Kickstarter for SFAM Book 3, which will help us raise the funds we need to do a limited run to fulfill just the outstanding rewards. I'm sure some of you have had enough of this whole thing, and I don't blame you one bit if you're feeling burnt. But I want you to know that I'm still determined to make good on this, even if the universe has it out for me. And I wanted to let you know what was happening ahead of time. 

We're keeping it simple this time. Not so many parts means fewer ways to fuck up. And the amazing folks at Make That Thing are handling all the hard parts and working with my wife Amy to make sure everything goes smoothly and to keep me as far out of the loop as possible. Make That Thing have been doing this for years, they are the gold standard in Kickstarter fulfillment and their record is exemplary. 

Not only are Make That Thing helping me with this, but they're also helping to fulfill the last few outstanding rewards from the Goats Kickstarter. Big thanks to them for helping me out of this very nice hole I've dug here, and huge apologies to all of you who've been so much more than patient and understanding. The last few years have been challenging. I'm hoping this is the start of turning that around.
