Weekly Update - April 2nd

Hi Everyone,

Last week I may have been a little optimistic when I targeted May 10th for Chapter 8. I've developed a bad habit of adding extra scenes to the script for it. It's gone from a small chapter to a pretty lengthy one. I've now slated 27 scenes for the chapter, which is way bigger than I thought. In terms of progress; 14 are fully complete with 3 others in a partial state right now.

The script is progressing well, the core structure is already in place for the whole of chapter 8, I'm just adding in detailed dialogue now .

So here is my plan. I will keep pushing to get the full chapter released sometime around the 10th, likely to be after rather than before. If it's just looking like that will be impossible, I will do a split chapter release to Patreon only on the 10th. The content for the split point is already fully complete and initially tested, so it won't take me too long to finalise it for a build. I will make that call late next week and announce on next week's update post. If it will only take me a few more days to complete the full chapter, I will hold off, as I would prefer to deliver this one as a full chapter for story flow reasons. I hope that makes sense. One thing I'm keen on not doing here and I won't, is cutting any of my proposed content to try and make a deadline.

Outside of development, the Steam sale ended on Tuesday and the game did pretty well. I've seen a few better reviews too, which has helped I think.

I did send a note about the changes I had to make to the game for the Steam platform, I've decided to keep the original script the way it is here on Patreon. The changes were not massive and doesn't really effect any flow in the story. Just takes a little bit of the realism away.
