Weekly update - August 1st

Hi Everyone,

Happy August !! Progress this week has been steady. I've now started what I call the "big scene" for Chapter 9. By big I mean pivotal, it's important that I get it right and I'm currently taking a lot of care with the rendering process for it.

Last week I spoke about changing up my plan on how I deliver these last few chapters. I have decided that I will follow the new plan I spoke of last week. So Chapter 9 is now titled "Back to Uni" and will run through those first few weeks of year 2. Chapter 10 will finish year 2 and take in the summer break. Chapter 11 will be year 3. And adding Chapter 12 now as the epilogue/post uni.

As I said I am in the midst of the "big scene" I anticipate at least another week to complete the renders for it. After that I have 2 smaller scenes and one big scene left to render for Chapter 9. Working on the idea that I can get the two smaller scenes done inside a week and the bigger scene will take a week. Add in another week for testing and refinement. And if my maths is correct that means I'm estimating Chapter 9 to be delivered 4 weeks from now (Aug 29th or thereabouts).

Away from development my attention has been on the Itch.io shadow ban and the pressure the payment processors are putting on the adult games industry. My views and sales on Itch have dropped off a cliff, since no one can search for the games. It remains a very unstable situation and has a lot us worried for what lies ahead. I've heard suggestions that Subscribestar may be a safer place. When I get a minute I will start to look into getting a presence over there. One immediate concern though I see from my initial research is that file hosting may be an issue. I don't really want to go back to third party file hosting if I can help it. Anyway I'll continue to do research on that and as I said when time permits I'll see what I can do.
