Yeah, I forgot about those scenes. It's weird how casual the drills are. Like the nuclear attack drills of my youth.

I really related to the main character's social anxiety, because even now it shows up in ways that hold me back. One thing that I thought was really interesting was how casually the school had active shooter drills. Even talking to my students now (who are about 18-22 years old) they have a much different relationship with that kind of danger than I ever did.
