The comments against casually practiced mindfulness were really interesting. The Hillsboro PD was given mindfulness training. The results were reported as being really positive. They are hoping to teach it to members of the military as well. It's supposed to come to a unit near where I work within a month or so. We had a demo of a basic session and they used the traditional Buddhist (or so I am assuming) method of sounding to start it. I plan on jumping in on the training. Hopefully it is well thought out.
