Stop Saying I'm So OCD!

Yep, I absolutely agree. In German, this just doesn't sound "good"....

Interesting!

Psychology In Seattle

Considering that you made a video about it, it seems to be a frequent occurence in your place. I can't imagine anything smiliar happening in my country anytime soon. "I'm so OCD!" is just a lot easier to vocalize than "I'm so 'zwangsgestört'!". But the main reason probably is that the word for OCD in german, "Zwangsstörung", has a negative conotation. "Zwang" just means compulsion in this case but "Störung" in connection with a living being is also often used as an insult. I haven't met someone yet, who would voluntarily call himself "zwangsgestört", especially without diagnosis, online and offline.
