When I got to the ending where the Stefan explained how he made his game so good (the perception that the player had control when they did not) I took that to be the point of the entire episode/movie. You are given the illusion that you have control, but if you want him to get 5 stars then you have to take him down a certain path. The movie also makes you restart when you choose the wrong path. So, you don't, "really," have control. I can't remember if that ending was the one that ended the movie, but that was how I took the entire episode and thought it was pretty brilliant and a troll sort of way if that was their intent. Especially after more or less making you kill dad.
