While Madeline's revelations in the car afterward about why she cheated were kinda interesting (and not a connection I would have made), it was so awful how the therapist talked to poor Ben from Parks and Rec. I think the portrayal is kind of educational in a way though, I mean unfortunately I hope the show doesn't normalize cheating or blaming the spouse, but if taken the other way it's a kind of a savage critique of people who do these things. I didn't pick up on the Celeste issue AT ALL. The New York Times review of the show was pretty tolerant of her attitude toward Celeste (they called her Dr. ASMR because she has this monotone voice) but yeah, actually it's not the best. I wonder what the actress was actually going for in this role.

She was an extension of the show being extremely boorish and didactic with other characters in a bizarre way, but her professional role made it jarring
