Enneagram Personality Test

Comments

I learned about the Enneagram in a Coaching course. There we were introduced to various personality typing methods: Myers Briggs etc. I wasn't quite able to type myself and then tried some online test that got me wrong. The person introducing the Enneagram said everyone not feeling comfortable about their type should have a chat with him. So I did and he asked me a variety of questions and "tried on" a couple of types with me. We landed on the 8. I think it's hard doing these tests because I always veer to something I find an attractive trait so it comes out all wonky. But now that I'm a bit better versed in how the Enneagram works, I find it immensely helpful for self-acceptance and accepting others and their personality. They are not trying to piss me off, we just have different coping strategies in life. :)

I hear you. I'm a big fan of the Enneagram, but I'm also an Atheist and someone who's eyes pretty much glaze over when someone even mentions horoscopes. So I am totally annoyed by the fact that the woo woo crowd basically "owns" all public presence of this tool. I'm still looking for my sensible tribe to discuss and nerd out on it. Sigh.

personally i cant relate to any of these types. i relate to bits and pieces of some types but then i hear other things about them and im like no thats not me. ive read some about the history of the enneagrma, and at first it wasnt a set of personalities at all but all of these numbers represented parts of the personality. or something like that.. which to me would make a lot more sense. but overall the mysticism and "spirituality" of it turns me off and feels a little bit cult-like
