Dungeon Divers Page 20 Redraw

When I started this project I figured I'd be satisfied with redrawing a few pages at the beginning and then just slightly modifying the rest. But after numerous experiments I have to conclude that it's easier just to start from scratch almost every time. Hopefully this will change at some point as the art catches up with itself and things will start getting a bit faster.

I feel guilty investing this much time and effort in a single project but I need it to be perfect, or as close to perfect as I can get it within reason. I have high hopes for the Divers and I want to be able to hand this book to someone and have them get excited about it immediately. I want to use it to figure out a way to make more Dungeon Divers, in whatever format that might happen.

So the usual webcomics production rules had to be thrown out the window. Speed exchanged for precision. Quantity for quality. I think the end product will justify the investment.

Anyway, enough bullshit, here's your new page:

And the original:

As always, check out the files attached to this post if you want to take a look at my layered PSD files or a hi-res TIFF or JPG for detailed viewing. Enjoy!

I mean, I fell in love with this crew back when they first started appearing amidst other SFAM recurring characters, but I understand your wanting to take DD to a higher level. The redrawn pages certainly ARE gorgeous, so I ain't gonna complain if you keep letting us look at the progress! <3

Are you thinking about how to avoid attracting attention from hostile Hasbro lawyers? It seems like the transition within the D&D world is going to lead to some risk for folks that invoke anything that's original to D&D. So, making a monster too-obviously a D&D-originating "gelatinous cube", rather than a generic weird amoeba monster, seems like it could be a risk...
