I have already seen all of Kuroko's Basketball back just after I first watched Haikyuu! I quite liked it, as you said the hype in that series is great.

The characters aren't better written than Haikyuu, and the animation isn't as good either (at least in the 1st season), however it's very very hype. The antagonists are very badass. This series hooks you real fast imo.
