Hey everyone! Just after my last update here, we took the kids down to Florida for a bit of summer vacation fun to see their grandparents and to ride a few rides at Disneyworld (and help line their coffers for anti-DeSantis lawsuits, a side benefit). It was fantastic! And exhausting. Florida in August is a humid hellscape and the thermostat is pegged at 97F. But by the time I got back I was ready to get back to working on the cover.

It has been a slog. I will probably not do another cityscape like this one, maybe ever. It's not what I got into illustrating to do. But I'm going to see it through, even if I only get to work on it in small increments because preteens and teenagers need constant, constant attention and will not be satisfied until productivity is eradicated. They go back to school in a couple of weeks. I can outlast them.

Anyway, here's the updated progress animation:

Keep in mind that this is still very much in progress and the final image is going top change a lot between now and whenever the hell it is I finish it. Heat death, maybe.

While I continue to work on the cover I'm opening up avatar commissions for the first time since April 2022! I'm going to be doing them a bit differently this time, and I'll post more about that soon once I have the details squared away. Patrons will get first dibs at the available commission slots, of course.
