Kingbaum is another literary reference in Odas masterpiece; The writer and creator of "The Wizard of OZ" was Lyman Frank Baum, and for him to be a leader in something that feels inspired by OZ, Through the Looking Glass/ Alice in Wonderland and brothers grimm stories it seems so apt. Baum is also the german word for "tree"

2025-03-22 16:50:49 +0000 UTCI believe Luffy added animals to new attacks he developed after the timeskip, because of his training partners. But Hawk and Eagle simply mean he's using Haki. So standard Gear 2 was "Jet" and Gear 3 was "Giganto," and if he also uses Armament Haki, Haki Gear 2 attacks are birds like Hawk and Eagle, including Hawk Gatling, Hawk Rifle, and Eagle Bazooka used on Punk Hazard/Dressrosa. Haki Gear 3 attacks have Elephant/Grizzly. And Gear 4 attacks (which are exclusively Haki) have Rhino, Kong, and Leo. While Red Hawk does use Haki, not all Hawk moves have fire, only Red moves do.

2025-03-19 18:02:38 +0000 UTCluffy generally names his aerial attacks based on birds, if he comes from the air he'll do like "eagle bazooka" instead of a regular "bazooka", red hawk is kinda the exception to this rule. only when he says "red hawk" he'll use the fire attack i think. (Veritas can probably correct some things here)
