I genuinely was not even thinking about Attack on Titan but it's very funny now thinking how messed up the idea was and yet that's the entire way to obtain powers in AoT, hahaha.

That is indeed dark, so dark in fact that I think Oda couldn't confirm it explicitly if it was the case, hypothetically, because unlike some other titan-themed anime, One Piece is rated 14+ and not 16+. So if you were right, *cough* you'd have to assume it by now based on the context already provided. *Sasageyo, sasageyo*
