Psychology In Seattle
2017-12-16 16:44:04 +0000 UTCThe myriad pressures of grad school permeated everything, no matter how scholarly/ how much you love your subject. I remember a married friend became pregnant in our last year, and the whole English department faculty acted like she didn't care about her career, presented a terrible example, and took it as a slap in the face to the program . I definitely got the message of each weekly review being about more than your work, but about all your talent, ambition, and passion being judge in a be all end all way. There was no room for a balanced life- grades hung publicly on the department office door.
