2018-01-23 03:46:18 +0000 UTCThis really helped me make sense of my training program experience. I went to a trauma counseling program in Philly and was part of the third graduating class. I now realize that though the faculty were well intentioned, they did everything you suggested not to. One meeting with the program director even ended in one student punching another for racist comments she made. As a person of privilege, I felt compelled to become a sort of translator for both sides and tried to make the space as safe as possible for those in marginalized groups. I felt good about that, but I’ve always had the, “what the hell even happened?!” in the back of my mind. Thank you for offering some clarity.
