Tiger King and Midsommar

Part of me appreciated good film making of Midsommar and the other part felt for my Swedish spouse’s dislike of the idea of American style extreme horror fantasy applied ( inappropriately? ) to his country’s beautiful and long tradition in mid summer. He chose not to see the film(yet).

I didn't care for either, but I ultimately take Joe Exoitic's side. I absolutely think Carol Baskin killed her husband. All the way. Statistically the most likely person to kill you is your spouse, by a very wide margin, and that percentage goes up even higher when the couple is engaged in getting a divorce. I can't say she did it definitively, but statistically, it's far and away the mostly likely scenario. Police always start with the people closest to the victim for a reason, because the people closest to you are generally the ones who did it. Not only that, as bad as Joe treated his workers, as poorly as he paid them, Carol didn't pay them at all. That's what killed me. She just markets free labor "as volunteering for a good cause." Joe was by no means innocent and I do think he did engage in murder for higher.
