Yeah, from my limited experience with the online discussion of her, it seems way overblown and unfair. But I only know a bit.

Hi Dr. Kirk, I’ve listened to all of your podcasts on narcissism & slowly making my way through the others. What is becoming clear that people & relationships are a lot more complex than we are given to understand -especially if you follow social media experts. I wonder whether you’ve followed the story of Meghan Markle at all? She is painted as a narcissist, who broke up a family. I wonder whether you could speak to the more nuanced things that happen to a family system & have a go at analysing the Sussex’s from that lens? The story of the daughter in law determined to break a family sounds a bit old. We were just discussing this in training & I wondered what your take was?

As a hubby with mental issues, I often wonder how my wife feels. Try to keep my sht together and listen to her orders. Lol

As a therapist, I found Kirk’s description of therapists’ empathy obligations very informative. Also, his explanation of why it is not ok to make decisions for clients. In practice I have at times felt great pressure from my clients to take the burden of choice from them. And if resisted I’ve found that clients will inadvertently find ever more subtle ways to achieve this. So I need to be very clear in my heart that I am not going to decide for them. Kirk’s talk helped strengthen this particular boundary for me.
