Future Polls Poll
Added 2021-07-24 16:00:08 +0000 UTCI'm on the fence about changing how the Serpent tier and character polls work.
Current system allows any suggestion, but the selections are always incongruous with each other and poll winners may be far from what certain suggesting patrons wanted. Niche picks get overwhelmed by popular picks. However most suggestions do at least get a chance (because there aren't enough to warrant culling without it feeling like a suggestion is being singled out).
What I'm considering changing is restricting character polls and their suggestions to themes based on 'character from X franchise/series' or 'scenarios for Y character'. This would also include a price drop for the Serpent tier, probably down to $10. More suggestions with a shared condition makes it easier for me to pick and choose (without feeling bad), and likes could be an actual rule (two most liked suggestions are guaranteed to get in or something). In a similar vein to those changes, polls would be hard restricted to four options so that voters don't get spread out too thin.

I like the idea of having a theme or series voted for and then a second round suggesting or voting on the scenario or character.

2021-07-24 19:51:33 +0000 UTC4-6 possibly. It'd depend, case by case. If I'm worried about popular characters overriding everything else, since the themes are up to myself and will be familiar to me I can set ground rules. For instance if I was doing a Re: Zero theme I'd almost certainly disallow Emilia, Rem, and Echidna.
