Pride Month '22: Two Souls Interlocked

Summary: In a facility lab, A female secretary is frustrated that her scientist girlfriend/lover did not have time for a lovely dating night together because her scientist girlfriend/lover is busy helping the other engineers with a new device that would allow for fusing two different items into a new item. So the female secretary went to visit her in hoping to talk with her about this issue and come up with a solution. However, because she was so frustrated, she decided to meet her at the wrong time. The scientist's girlfriend/lover and engineers were about to test to see what happen if a stack of rubber bands and fruit fused. However, it was interrupted by a female secretary who just want to talk to her scientist's girlfriend/lover. But, she accidentally tripped herself, knock over the fruit, and landed near the testing site. The scientist's girlfriend/lover tried to halt the experiment but it was too late as the device activated and fused both the stack of rubber bands and the female secretary. This resulted in her becoming a living rubber band. The female secretary will have a challenging experience being a living rubber band. Fortunately her scientist girlfriend/lover will help her as much as it could, which later both understand their problems and have a wonderful moment together.

That overly sentimental idiot nearly got herself killed. I've never been so upset in all my life. I want to be angry with her, but I've spent all my time worrying sick about her. There's no time to be angry.

Janine threw herself in the way, at the wrong place and at the wrong time. We were set to begin the fusing practical testing on objects. Josh thought we would have a new candy on our hands, fusing a bowl of fruit with an elastic band. But we were never planning to be at the stage for human testing... it was never meant to EVER be used on humans.

Her condition has been deteriorating. The corporation figures she's a lost cause. It's hard to disagree. The strength has been fading from her, and her health diagnostics are increasingly poor. Her heartbeat has been fading as well.

Still, I love the damned fool. So I will continue to visit her in secret. To hell with the protective measures. I won't see her die alone and unloved like some discarded labrat. I will stay by Janine's side, take her vitals, and push for a cure. There has to be a way...

-From the desk of Dr. Regina Faust, Project Lead

---

Regina arrived in front of the protected facility. It had been haphazardly refitted to serve as a medical center... though Regina had also arranged for some personal effects to be delivered; if Janine was going to die, it would be preferable to do so in the comfort of a hospice...

...No, no, none of that. Regina shook her head. She had to think positive thoughts. She took a deep breath, and donned her helmet, completing the hazmat suit that visitors had to wear around Janine now. She prepared a keycard, holding it to the reader.

"Janine. It's me. I'm coming in." Regina uttered, the door clicking open in affirmation. The door creaked open as she poked her head in.

"...Reggie? Hey... working hard or hardly working?"

Janine forced a smile, though it wasn't especially convincing. The sight of her got a sharp gasp from Regina; had the corruption progressed so far in her absence?

Janine's entire body had turned a sharp shade of red over the course of her treatment, her skin taking on a luscious, glossy sheen. It was almost beautiful, apart from the malignant spread of her condition. Her DNA was being wiped, over and over, with new instructions that warped her body. Over the course of the week, her bones seemed to melt away, and her limbs had sprawled in boneless messes that she could hardly move. Some of the other doctors were concerned that her other bodily functions were failing, her blood flow slowing to a crawl, with arteries and veins dissipating along with her bones...

But the sight of her limbs brought a new unsightly realness to the situation. From her shoulder and from her thighs, her limbs were... completely alien. Her arms, legs, feet, hands, gone, replaced with twisting, spiralling things that resembled ribbons. They took on the same texture as the rest of her rubber body, and the way they coiled around anxiously... the next level of strangeness was on its way.

"Janine...!" Regina was forced into action, scrambling for the desk. "I need to take your vitals, your heartbeat is-"

"Don't bother, Reggie..." Janine chuckled sadly. "I... I can't feel my heartbeat anymore. And I'm... cold. There's barely any heat at all..."

"..." Regina clutched the desk, hanging her head. She said nothing.

"Hey, so... give it to me straight, doc." Janine raised her head, her bob cut bouncing slightly with the motion. "I... I'm gonna die here, aren't I?"

"No. We'll find a way." Regina shook her head, straightening up to adjust her helmet. "I'll find a cure to, to whatever it is you're-"

"Regina, please..." Janine pleaded. "You keep burying your head in your books and I... I miss you."

Janine tried to get off the bed, but her springy legs didn't support her weight. She slumped back, groaning; she leaned up, flashing Regina another one of her sweet smiles.

"I just... want to spend some time with you. Is that okay?"

"..." Regina went silent. She considered it. And in the end, she paced over, her heels clicking against the ground as she plopped down next to Janine, her head bowed.

"...I don't like this." Regina admitted with a heavy sigh. "You're going to die, and I... I can't sit around and do nothing, I-"

"You've done everything for me, Reggie." Janine leaned closer, one of her ribbony arms hugging her shoulder. "Let's just spend the night together..."

Janine flashed a radiant smile... a stupid smile. Regina cocked her head to look at her... her expression wasn't clear through the helmet.

"You always buried yourself in your work all the time..." Janine went on. "And now you wanna go back to it? There's nothing to be done..."

"I... we don't know that." Regina moved a hand to place on Janine's lap, just above where her body was disintegrating into ribbons. "If I don't make every effort to save you, I... then I would just let you die, I can't..."

"Listen, when you're here? At my side? I'm the happiest a woman can be. So don't cry, okay?" Janine smiled widely. "If I have to go... I want to be sent off with a smile, y'know?"

"............."

That stupid, sentimental woman... Regina cursed herself. She was supposed to soothe Janine, but it was all backwards.

She hated this. There were too many boundaries between them. If Janine would choose to be stupid... then Regina would be stupid with her.

She raised her hand to her helmet. Janine paused, her eyes widening.

"Reggie? What're you-"

Fsssst! Regina wrested off the helmet, revealing her bookish face, her thick-rim glasses, and her brown ponytail, slumped over her shoulder. She grunted, wrestling the rest of the hazmat suit off of herself, stripping down until she could face Janine. She stood up before her as she took off the suit... and then her labcoat thereafter, until she could stand over Janine.

"Let's spend one last night together." Regina uttered, determination in her voice. "Consequences be damned."

Janine looked up, astonished. Truthfully, her clothes no longer fit her well, her gown slipping past her lack of limbs, and... well, she was practically naked, in any case. Her spiralling ribbon limbs lashed about anxiously as she smiled bashfully.

"One more terrible decision to add to the pile...?" Janine joked. Regina, stripped naked, lowered herself on top of her.

"It's not a terrible decision... if it brings me closer to you." Regina stated, her hands grasping for Janine's shoulders.

"Reggie, I... I'm getting tingly all over..." Janine admitted. "I... I missed you so much."

"Then let's never be apart. Ever again." Regina's legs slipped through the spirals of Janine's skin. Her mutated skin was so soft, yet wherever she touched, the cool feeling of rubber flared up into a great heat.

But Regina didn't pay any mind to that. She only had eyes for Janine... so beautiful. With a heart to match. She leaned forward to embrace her. She was so soft, her breasts so bouncy... her rubbery skin was perfect, so shiny. Janine squeaked happily as she sprawled out, her limbs trying to gain a hold around her bookish girlfriend.

...And then something odd possessed Janine. A new awareness of her alien body. The ribbons lasted out, uncoiling into appendages as they swooped around Reggie and, like myriad tendrils, wrapped around her, bringing her closer, prodding at her skin for openings.

As they massaged one anther, rolling along the thin mattress, Regina's skin buzzed and tingled. She was oblivious to how her skin was rapidly turning a vibrant shade of blue, taking on the rubbery tint the same as Janine. They were too missing fondling one another, their tongues playing an intricate dance together as their bodies pressed closer and closer together.

Regina kept playing with Janine's breasts, her fingers dancing along the side... until her hand jerked forward as the skin simply opened up. Regina looked, astonished at the characteristics of Janine's devolving body. The ribbonization of her body had advanced along her torso, seams of interlocking rubber travelling up her body like streaded fibers... and her hand slipped between a space between Janine's breasts as they spiralled into a ribbon...

...It was then that Regina realized the pigment of her skin. She looked at her skin, the unnatural sheen on the back of her hand... and the curious, ribbon-like appendages that it split off into.

"Wh-what...?" She blinked, before yelping as her entire body pulled forward, as if dragged by an invisible force. She could feel her body unravelling in a hurry, slithering to occupy the space that Janine took up. Janine laughed with delight, before being silenced as her body was rendered an unrecognizable pile of red tendrils.

Two piles of swirling rubber tendrils, red and blue, twisted around one another, swooshing between the gaps left by the other. They formed a strange weave once more, flowing through each other all along the bed. The mass writhed, rocking on the bed with pleasure, until movement had ceased.

What lay there, where once there were two women, now lay just one. A more pronounced, beautiful woman, her hair longer, her chest more voluptuous, her hips more prominent... yet from head to toe, her body was made of interweaving rubber bands. The weave was more pronounced where the colours clashed, but the weaves soon melded together, providing a weave-like pattern along a smooth, curvaceous, voluptuous body...

The woman sat up, blinking her now heterochromic red and blue eyes. She ran a head through her long hair, which now travelled the length of her back in red and blue strands. She admired her body, her warmth, her... her conspicuous lack of heartbeat. The way she squeaked subtle with every movement she made...

...And she cupped her hands, one red and one blue, underneath her perky, enormous breasts, which looked a size off from being proper basketballs. She smiled to herself.

"My my my..." She swooned. "Janina, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"

She hugged herself, her body writhing. She could feel the intermingling of two souls in one body. And perhaps she could pull herself apart to mingle again as two lovers.

But she was true to her word. They would never be apart again.
