Cast into a deep sleep by Astra's little mind trick, Celes stirred along the beachfront. When her eyes were closed, she seemed to forget her skyscraper-tall stature; she stirred, rolling over onto her back, flattening a large stretch of jungle foliage.

She stirred in her sleep, wearing a pained grimace. She turned from side to side, each time flattening several dozen palm trees. The local wildlife scampered out from underneath her, other light blue creatures being enveloped in her purple, slimy form. Oblivious to the tingling sensation, she absorbed more creatures, murmuring as she rested fitfully.

She was having another horrid nightmare. It was dark. The acrid stench of chemicals hung heavy in the air. Celes was trapped in a glass prison—a cylindrical chamber, surrounded by shadowy figures.

She was human, though the way she was displayed made her feel like some horrid test subject, another animal to harvest and discard. She whimpered, her whole body tensing up as her paralyzed body was poked and prodded against her will. Invisible syringes pierced her skin. Invisible scalpels would slice her flesh bloodless open, only for her skin to reseal itself once more, as if nothing had happened. Her body shuddered and trembled. She spotted a horrid, oozing substance residing underneath her skin, where flesh and bone ought to be, struggling to come out.

She hurt all over; a particularly painful incision along her spine caused her to cry out harshly in pain, her voice an echo of itself. For a second it seemed as if there may have been a second person in the room... but the crushing loneliness weighed on Celes.

She cried out, desperately pounding at the glass, over and over, until her knuckles began to bleed. She threw herself at the wall over and over, desperate to be released, her nails bloody, broken, falling out as she slammed harder, more fiercely, gripped by an instinct from deep within to struggle, to survive. Even as a gash along her palm spilled dark, oozing liquid down her forearm and to the floor of her glass prison, she lashed out harder, faster.

The glass began to crack as she chipped away at it. Gripped by an otherworldly fury, she screeched and threw herself one more time, until it finally gave in. Casting glass shards in all directions, Celes threw herself out of the glass container!

She expected to hit solid ground, but there was none beneath her. She continued to plunge deeper into pitch black darkness...

Her senses were muddled to the point that she couldn't tell if she was falling, or floating. The air around her grew heavier, an immense pressure weighing her down, as if attempting to flatten her to the ground. Celes' sensations were sluggish... the sensation of being deep, deep underwater occurred to her.

With every move she made, she felt pieces of her break apart from her, floating upwards and away. With fatigue washing over her, gripped by an intense chill, the sensation of her body breaking into millions of little pieces, she resigned herself to death...

But from somewhere above her, there was a light—a curious light that bobbed up and down. It illuminated the dark space around her, giving light to the inky blots of her form that continued to escape her crumbling form. The light approached, growing brighter...

Celes assumed the light to be some divine power—the light at the end of the tunnel, perhaps—but as the light approached, a ghastly figure, dimly lit by the light, emerged from the darkness. An enormous, undersea fish, the size of a whale at least. A wipe-open maw, lined with terrible fangs. And bulbous, light blue eyes that glowed on their own; their large pupils lit up with electrical currents.

Though the creature was monstrous, and Celes' mind was horrified by the sight, her body was unmoved. The anglerfish-like monster hovered nearby, staring at her. Celes extended her hand...

Or, at least she thought she did. But her arm was warped, a grizzly shade of red. Through her forearm, gnarled skeletons of creatures she didn't recognize rose and sunk under her blood-red skin. She twisted her arm, gawking at the horrible claws that protruded from her fingers, the way they twisted and elongated.

Celes lowered her hand, catching a glimpse of herself in a reflection, cast by the bulbous eyes of the sea monster. She saw... she saw...

...

"AH!"

Celes arose with a sharp yelp; she sat up, eyes wide as dinner plates. She breathed, streaks of slime running down her body.

As she took in her surroundings, she gulped, and tried to force herself to calm down. Her eyes darted about frantically as she took in her surroundings... She heard the braying of seagulls, the crash of the ocean waves, the rustling of palms above...

She raised her hand to shield her eyes from the bright sun hanging above her head with a grimace. It was coming back to her now. She got stuck on an island... and she was still huge.

She glanced down at the state of her outfit, choking out a gasp; she tugged at her top with trepidation. It seemed her ballroom seaweed gown had been downgraded to some two-piece seaweed bikini. The telltale green swirls of Feza's bright green slime essence, previously binding her outfit, seemed to be running dry; Celes looked ahead, finding a trail of her own slime spilling off into the ocean.

...Remarkable that the outfit still fit snugly to her, despite the wear and tear. Actually, she saw tendrils of her own purple slime slithering between the strands of seaweed to bind the dress anew. Strange, but hardly surprising at this point.

Celes glanced back towards the jungle, sighing to herself. The jungle overlooking the shoreline was utterly smashed.

"Must've been rolling around a lot... mmph." Celes muttered with a frown. She surveyed the palms... previously, her head alone was the size of a whole palm tree, but now they seemed to come halfway up to her waist.

"Am I shrinking?" Celes murmured. "Did I figure something out??" She stood up to compare—still plenty big, at least twenty feet tall, but at least she didn't tower over a skyscraper now.

Celes felt a little excitement well up within her... one that was quickly snuffed out as she turned to face the ocean again.

"How am I gonna get off this island...?" Celes muttered to herself. Her mouth flattened as she collapsed to the ground. She idly watched the ocean waves for a bit.

"...I'm gonna die out here, aren't I? Marooned on a desert island..." Celes grumbled, folding her arms.
