5th century Ireland

Western Europe was, at one point, one of the largest hubs of monster girl activity, in part due to the native fae populations, as well as the merfolk kingdoms residing along the Atlantic coastline. While lamia were the subject of persecution and distrust, the mobilization against small populations of lamia spurred on a solution unique to the region.

Islands possessed particular geographical benefits as regions that could be defended easily, with a natural barrier preventing invaders from the outside, while also keeping the islander occupants from getting off the island easily. Ireland, a large island, provided barriers of all sorts; in addition to the known geographical barriers, the hostility of mermaid populations made passage across the Irish Sea particularly perilous.

As a result of these converging factors, the island of Ireland was determined to be an ideal location to relocate "undesirable" lamia to.an island; surrounded by merfolk, they were forced to keep to the island, and to remain in their own communes.

In a society without men, lamia were pressed to form their own communities, though only after a period of frenzied violence against one another. It was commonplace that stronger lamias would ensnare weaker lamias and bring them in as sexual thralls, trying to chase the same thrill as sexually preying upon human males would. Lamia eggs in particular were prized as both treasures and as luxury food items. Raids and debauchery were a regular fixture of life, with parties of lamia fighting over the few men within reach; men fleeing from sailing vessels, either pirates or navals, would frequently be kidnapped and delivered to lamia to be made breeding slaves.

In light of these ultra-violent circumstances, the Neo-Heterosian Church cited this region as the center of a humanitarian crisis. Priests and nuns were sent to attempt to civilize the native population of lamia. However, female nuns were routinely killed and devoured, often within hours of their arrival, and male priests, while lasting somewhat longer, rarely lived long without being exhausted of their semen output, and also devoured.

With religious scholars on the mainland at a loss, they took more drastic measures; calling upon existing literature and anecdotes recounting the lamia's positive relationship with slime girls, colonies of slime girls were whisked away from southeast Asia, to be taken to Europe to be taught and indoctrinated into the holy order of Heterosia. Slimefolk were the perfect candidate for establishing a religious colony in Ireland, able to withstand physical trauma and survive (and often escape from) being devoured by lamia.

Furthermore, it was discovered that disparate slime girls could fuse into bigger versions of themselves, and with greater intellect to memorize and disseminate religious scripture. A convent of slime girl nuns was formed, studying as a group, before they were made to join together, and anointed as Saint Patricia. Surging across the Irish sea as a thirty foot tall giantess, St. Patricia migrated to Ireland to spread the word of the good goddess, and to convert the violent lamia to civilization.

St. Patricia was characterized as a firm and devout orator; even speaking softly, her voice could carry across a wide area. One of the first speeches she gave to the lamians in Ireland was that all tests had a divine intent; though it would be possible for her to carry the lamia back to the mainland, their divine purpose was to reconstruct their lives on the island, and see the light of Heterosia as a divine, loving mother of life.

St. Patricia was known for her advocacy of a lifestyle of devout discipline, and secret documents noted her methods for dealing with misbehaving lamia; she was known for morphing her fingers into paddles and smacking multiple lamia around. If a lamia was being especially unruly, she would devour her whole temporarily.

St. Patricia established multiple missionary schools across Ireland, and was the chief educator at the majority of these institutions, on account of her ability to divide herself into myriad copies of herself while maintaining a hive mind where she could see through all of her copies. Splitting off a smaller version of herself served to be a test for the lamia, for if one acted out and attempted to devour her, they would only summon punishment from the colossal super-slime, who would descend on them in a matter of hours.

As lamia were indoctrinated on the principles of embracing love for their fellow man, sex-starved lamia often turned to each other within the trappings of missionary school. While sexual relations between fellow lamia was frowned upon, it is believed that St. Patricia turned something of a blind eye to these lewd displays; it was certainly impossible for her to be ignorant to the depravity conducted between horny lamia seeking outlets for their desires. Nuns-in-training would embrace each other, rubbing their cloaca together for stimulation, and coiled around each other tighter and tighter, leaving one another bruised and bloody in their throes of passion. Violating each other in this manner, in the eyes of St. Patricia, was preferable to laying their covetous hands upon man, made in the image of Heterosia.

St. Patricia remains, to this day, a beloved figure in Heterosian history, known widely for liberating the beasts from within the snakes, and to this day gives annual sermons to the followers of the Heterosian religion, of which a considerable population reflects subsequent generations of successfully converted lamia. Her original nunnery garments, custom-tailored for her colossal size, are preserved in a cultural museum as the centerpiece spanning five storeys.

Curiously, the holiday marked in her name and in her honour has deviated significantly from her significance as a holy matriarch; the holiday has largely been co-opted as an excuse to party and drink. The grand tradition of lamian love has persisted to this day, with orgies organized apart from the watchful eye of St. Patricia herself. To this day, the female lamian population largely outnumbers the male population by a factor of 1000 to 1.
