Snowbound Blood Devpost: Volumes 6 - 7

WELL, the whole "doing it every month thing" didn't work out. But honestly? I feel that despite all of that, SBB has been turning out better than ever in terms of what is actually produced.

There hasn't been a lot to say in terms of raw production details, we're mainly just planning on making sure we continue at an even pace despite not really relegating ourself to a strict deadline besides ASAP. Vol. 7 took so long because much like the boys featured, it was BEEFY. And was effectively our end point for the first half that will lead us into a similar but much different second half. Vol. 8 has already had quite a bit of production done on the writing end of things, and while nowhere near as long as something like Vol. 5 or Vol. 7, it'll certainly be a wild ride of its own.

I'm not going to be giving any release windows for it, especially since EOA2 is now about to take priority with the upcoming October 31st deadline roaring closer and the VE and WP teams being very closely intertwined at this point. It's going to be an exceedingly busy month, especially near the end, so SBB may have to go on the backburner because of it. At least to some extent. I will say, however, that I would like to try and finish SBB by or around 3/22 if it can be helped. I feel like a year long development cycle would be a perfect milestone to end it all on, but it really just depends. There's still a lot planned for what's to come.

But enough about the future! Let's get into what we did in THE PAST! It's the most productive way to think.

VOLUME 7:

UNUSED CONTENT:

Necron's original idle and hover sprites for his character selection screen. The latter was actually used on the initial announcement for Vol. 7, before Phil decided to revamp them to better fit the slightly different design look they went with in the final version. (We also decided to let Phil take Necron's sprites so he could match with Oricka! We are always thinking of their love.)

Talald's original design, done by Ciro. It was revamped because we were looking for more of a cultish jester kind of vibe, and this felt too similar to her more casual outfit that we see her use in the comic. Ciro redrew the outfit used in the final version on his Ipad at a fucking CHILIS of all places, and the rest is history.

Alternate takes of Xam's backgrounds in Gerbat's route. Change to fit in more with the script.

That's about it for this devpost! Like last time, not every asset or sketch made it in here because the artists themselves have posted it on their various platforms (like Necron). ALSO like last time if you would like to see all of the various sketches and WIPs that went into Raurou's sprites, you can check them out on Donut's Google Drive here.

Artists for these two volumes were:

Xamag

Donut

spruiko

phillodough

calochart

banavalope

Chalupa

eddiedraws

Chumi

Olschu

You know what to do with these.

And remember, there is always a way to fix yourself. Just don't expect others to help pick up the pieces you left behind.
