[PATRON REWARD] Weekly Update - August 11th, 2019
Added 2019-08-12 02:41:26 +0000 UTC
This week's update is a bit different. I'll focus less on the work stuff and more on personal experiences and things. Skip to the other bolded text to see the details.
- I'll be going away for about 2 weeks. Don't worry, the next two episode is almost ready to be shown.
- Episode 20 has been uploaded and a ready to go. I'll see you Thursday, for some rapid fire fun.
- Episode 21 is still being edited. Credit will be locked soon, and script will be uploaded after episode 20 is live.
- Starting with episode 21, we'll have a sponsor... sometimes. That means sometimes, our channel will have a 60 second sponsored ad. I'll try my best to make the integration seamless. Although with chapter 21, the sponsor came in half way through the edit, so it's a bit more jarring than I had hope.
- Episode 21 is an in-depth analysis of a film, which I forget is a bad idea on YouTube. Some shots lasted as long as 20 seconds, which may be picked up by Content ID system. Hopefully no more copyright drama like the Stephen Chow episode.
Well, that's the work report, short and simple.
Patron Branovices suggests I share more about my experience with films I watched and games I played. I think it's a good idea, so here we go:
- I haven't been to the theatre in a while. In all honesty, nothing in the theatre excites me. And looking at the releases for the rest of the year, only two films caught my eyes.
- One is Joker. I swear I'm not a superhero geek, but this film has that indie look that I really like. Also, Joaquin Phoenix is a legend. I'm cautiously optimistic.
- The other one is Cats.
- I know I know. But Cats is literally something different. I'm sick and tired of the safe movie that Disney is dropping on us. Who knows, this movie may be visually unsettling to look at. But maybe the writing is good? I mean, the technical achievement is great. And Tom Hooper is an Oscar winning... overrated director but still.
- For older movies I have watched, I only saw one recently: Tremors. In which Kevin Bacon plays a hillbilly, battling against monsters that swim in dirt.
- I'm a sucker for bad movies, I love Syfy channel garbage. But this is not one of those. As crazy as it sounds, Tremors is a competently made, entertaining monster movie. Think of it as Jaws but in the American South.
- As for games: Like everyone, I've been playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I only barely managed to get to part 2 of the story, however, since my schedule has been busy.
- Still, from what I've seen, the increased focus on story is amazing. Finally the characters aren't just cardboards, they have real struggles that shapes their personality and the way they talk. They feel real, and relatable. That's a big deal for Fire Emblem.
- Since this game will never go on sale, if you have any interests in strategy RPG, give this game a try.
So, that is. I'll continue to think of something that help improve this weekly update thing. Maybe I'll upload each part as an image so it's easier to jump to parts that you are interested in.
Once again, if you have anything you want to suggest, drop a comment here!
I'll see you Thursday for a fun little episode!
