Hi, thank you so much for your support, dear Patreon!
If you have recently joined this channel, I wanted to quickly summarize how things work in this community. Your support is important to continue developing awesome stylized models, shaders and techniques in Blender we all like.
* Every time you see this icon ✅ in the title of a post, it means it's a REWARD POST, which means you'll be charged at the beginning of the next month. This Patreon channel is "per creation" meaning that if I post 2 or 3 of these titles, you'll be charged for each of those posts. You can limit the quantity you've planned to invest to support the projects in your Patreon's account settings.
* The wonderful thing to be in this community is that you can directly ask me anything you've encountered as a problem in the comment section of the post, and I'll do my best to reply as soon as I can to help you. My goal is that you use the file, shaders, techniques to your own production, characters and animations. I'll be happy to help you out on that.
* Currently the progress of this Arcane stylized shader is at 60% capacity, which means there's a list of things that an Art-Director will want to have the last saying to adjust the look and feel of the shader. Currently the list looks like this:
* Painterly smears : 40%
* Directional smears: 40%
* Customizable Rimlight: 20%
* Vector flow: 10%
* Procedural generators (edges, cavities, depth): 60%
Overall, the shader is at 60% completion, and I'm very motivated by the response of the community in general (144k tweet post!), because I understand most artists need a starting point to customize the shader and further more to stylize it.
This morning I spoke with Ramon Miranda, one of the leading artists in Krita's artistic brushes development, he has a long professional painter trajectory as well. We spoke about brushes customization to get the painterly feel in Krita as well. Krita is FREE and opensource.
In summary, I'm looking for a shader that's easy to art-direct for the advanced users, and for the users who are not experienced with paint styles, to create an easy-to-understand shader without the need for painting.
The intention with the upcoming video about the Arcane stylized shader in Blender will be aimed to the very basic user all the way to the advanced-experienced user, so everyone can also help me out with feedback about their own experiences after using the shader.
Thank you, once again for all your support!
Pierre.
