I came across this interesting video where each piece of the "memories" from Eren are separated with a different color (Object ID matte in Blender, and it's alternative better option: Cryptomatte object IDs). All though this video is (I think) made with Photoshop, it goes to show how you can use matte ids, to separate individual selections. Matte id selections are key when you're post-producing your 3d character. It helps you separate the eyes, hair, cloth, eyebrows and all of the individual parts of the body, so you can have individual control over them.
