Hello! Animation in 2D helps us a lot when we are working with a 3D character. I found this video explains how to break down a pose, create arcs and control timing in the best way possible. This is the key ingredient to make 3D animation look like "2D": Stepping curves, notice there is no "automatic interpolation" between drawings, and that's what makes our mind think (for a 3D render) "this is a drawing".
Animation can be done in 2's or 3's (holding 2 or 3 frames a pose), so we can get the sense of movement.
In summary: Study and practice these principles in your 3D animations, camera, shadows and light!
